Moving into your own house
The picture: A move with packed boxes and a new address
What it's about
You can stay with Albatros as long as you like. But you should be able to move out at any time. Because your project lives in its own logbook and is packed in boxes that fit anywhere, moving to your own server isn't a rebuild. You pack, move and change your address.
What you'll learn
- what goes into the moving boxes: logbook, secrets, data, settings
- how your logbook moves to GitHub and the conveyor belt delivers from there with its own key
- what you take care of yourself on your own server: updates, backups, monitoring
- how to redirect the address without any downtime
How you go about it
- Write a moving checklist with your AI.
- Rent your own server and set it up.
- Take the logbook to a new harbour (e.g. GitHub) and point the conveyor belt at the new house.
- Take your data along, test, then change the address in the phone book.
Done when
- the moving checklist
docs/landung.mdis in your project.
How Albatros can tell it worked
- The file ~/projekt/docs/landung.md is on your server.
