A noticeboard for your content
The picture: Noticeboard in the hallway
What it's about
A content management system (CMS) is a noticeboard in the hallway: anyone with something to say pins up a note without rebuilding the wall. First you decide whether you need one at all. If so, you set it up on your server, reachable through a secret passage.
What you'll learn
- when a CMS is worth it and when it isn't
- three levels: texts in the project, a noticeboard through your logbook, your own CMS
- how a program like Strapi runs in a container
- what a tunnel is and why the admin area shouldn't be public
How you go about it
- Answer three questions: how often, who, how many entries?
- Choose the simplest level that does the job.
- For your own CMS: take a photo, set up the container, store secrets safely.
- Create the admin account through the tunnel and make the first entry.
Done when
- the container
cmsis running on your server. If you deliberately decide against your own CMS, you may skip this mission.
How Albatros can tell it worked
- The container cms is running.
