The tally sheet at the shop door
The picture: Tally sheet at the shop door
What it's about
A shop owner at the door only counts what's on her list beforehand, and only once it has really happened. She doesn't remember faces. That's exactly how you set up the statistics for your website: a few clear tally marks, at the right moment, privacy-friendly.
What you'll learn
- what an event is and when it should count
- one goal event for what matters to you
- statistics without cookies
- to filter out your own visits and check the numbers against reality
How you go about it
- Write a small event plan.
- Create a PostHog project with its location in the EU.
- Add it to your page, with the cookieless setting.
- Fire the goal event after success, and test it.
Done when
- the event plan
docs/statistik.mdis in your project - and your page contains the PostHog snippet.
How Albatros can tell it worked
- The file ~/projekt/docs/statistik.md is on your server.
- The address https://{name}.aufwind.sh answers and shows “posthog”.
